Rain (also known as Bi) is a Korean pop singer whose real name is actually Jung Ji Hoon. He was born on June 25, 1982, and debuted in April of 2001. Over the last 2 years Bi Rain 's popularity has grown after his third album Its Raining sold over 1 million copies in Asia alone. According to JYP Entertainment, Bi Rains agency in Korea, rain has topped the chars in Korean, Japan, China, Thailand and Singapore. This to date makes hs album the most successful album to date for both domestic and international markets. Further more, it was reported that Rain Bi's concert tickets sold out in the first day it was placed on sale, for Korean and Japan.

2004 saw Rain Bi gain recognistion by winning the MTV Asia Grand Slam awards which involved various asian countries and was broadcasted all over asia. That year Bi Rain also went on to win other numerous awards into 2005 and even managed to perform his american artists such as ashanti and hoobastank. In 2005 he embarked on a Rainy Day 2005 tour in Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. As a result of his growing fan base and excellent on stage performance, his concert tickets sold out in quick succession, and has been tipped to gain even more awards in years to come.

More recently, in 2006 he was voted as Time magazine most influential artist, second only to Ang Lee. The magazine also noted that Rain may collaborate with P.Diddy after he performed a 2 day concert in Madison Square Gardens in February 2006.
